Ive been looking for some pre-BC gear for my warrior to tank MC with. I am rerolling with a bunch of people and are just going to do pre-BC raids. Im going to get all the dark iron gear once we do a few clears but I need some stuff so I can tank mobs and bosses.

My general gear make up is as followed

fire resist set

Head: Gyth's Skull of Fire Resistance (15)
Neck: Elder Magus Pendant
Shoulder: Ebonsteel Spaulders
Cape: Cape of the Fire Salamander
Chest: Dark Iron Plate
Wrist: Emberplate Armguards of Stamina (15) or of the Bear (10)
Gloves: Deathbone Gauntlets
Waist: Elemental Plate Girdle of Fire Resistance (10)
Legs: Deathbone Legguards
Feet: Lavawalker Greaves
Rings: Dimly Opalescent Ring of Fire Resistance (17) x2
Trinkets: Force of Will Vigilance Charm
Mainhand: Timeworn Mace
shield: Draconian Deflector
Ranged: Sandstrider's Mark

total fire resists is 140, 180 if i get 20 fire resist to head and leg and 185 if I get AD shoulder chant.

For my non fire resist tanking set I would start with:

Head: Gyth's Skull of Fire Resistance (14 Defence)
Neck: Evil Eye Pendant (10 defence)
Shoulder: Bile-etched Spaulders (10 defence)
Cape: Redoubt Cloak (10 defence)
Chest: Kromcrush's Chestplate (15 defence)
Wrist: Fel Hardened Bracers (5 defence)
Gloves: Boneclenched Gauntlets (10 defense)
Waist: Deathbone Girdle (14 defense)
Legs: Legplates of Vigilance (22 defense)
Feet: Deathbone Sabatons (15 defense)
Rings: Band of the Steadfast Hero (10 defense) Ring of Demonic Potency
Trinkets: Force of Will (10 defense) Vigilance Charm
Weapon: Timeworn Mace
shield: Draconian Deflector
Ranged: Sandstrider's Mark

145 defence added, 165 with talents

this is the basic set up i can see from lvl 55-60 instances and such. If any1 has something they can add to this list or if my FR is 2 low please tell me, for my first run. thx in advanced

I miss those days... what server are you guys on?

As for FR gear, Dark Iron is the way to go, with of course the +20 book enchants to head and legs. That should be the bulk of your FR, with other random items filling in the rest. For your first few runs you will not need anything until you reach Geddon and the fire packs. When you get there, 300FR is very helpful, and with buffs that will push you to 315. And of course, with 315, your ready for rag.

Okay so.

If i will be you i will search for quest rewards from Helfire Peninsula and Zangarmarsh since they are still doable as lvl 60.
Few examples:
Shoulders: http://www.wowhead.com/?item=25715
Chest: http://www.wowhead.com/?item=31720
Trinket: http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28042

Also Ramparts and Furnance have some nice drops:
Belt: http://www.wowhead.com/?item=24091
Boots: http://www.wowhead.com/?item=24064
Neck: http://www.wowhead.com/?item=24385
Gloves: http://www.wowhead.com/?item=24387

When this items are combined with "of the champion" gear you will have far more HP, defense, block or anything else than in gear that you have on your list. And almost same works for every other class

Hope this will help you. GL

They'll be using non-BC accounts, which means those quests and instances are not available to them. However, "of the Champion" greens are definitely going to be worth looking in to.

They are available to them. Only diference between non-TBC/TBC account is lvl range. They will simply stop at 1 xp from lvl 61.

Where did you hear that?

Afaik, you can't enter outlands or Shattrath on a non BC account.

Yup, you need a TBC account to go through the dark portal (or be summoned to Shattrath).

However, all those lvl 60 greens (of the champion and of fire protection) are BoE and are, in many cases, a LOT better than the pre-TBC dungeon loot.

You're looking for the Bloodscale set.

e.g.
Bloodscale Breastplate of the champion
(+21 Strength, +32 Stamina, +21 Defense Rating)

Bloodscale Legguards of Fire Protection (+41 Stamina, +27 Fire Resistance)
vs.
Dark Iron Leggings (+14 Stamina, +30 Fire Resistance)

Amethyst of Lost Chapter raid guild on EU Earthen Ring.
