Update: We found two new pieces of info regarding Kil'jaeden encounter on Blizzard support page.

Q: Hunter's Mark not shown on Shield Orbs during the Kil'Jaeden encounter
A: The Hunter's Mark is applied correctly, but is not shown as a graphical effect. You can verify the Hunter's Mark is active by looking at the Shield Orbs' debuffs. (src)

Q: We are not able to attack Kil'Jaeden after a failed attempt
A: This can occur when the last player disappears without being killed by Kil'Jaeden, this could be due to deaths by other monsters, suicide spells or spells that remove you from combat. (src)


Rogue tanks Mother Shahraz from 100 to 0

A rogue Gaeowyn from guild Shards of Existence made a rather staggering achievement, he tanked Mother Shahraz (seventh boss in Black Temple) from 100 to 0%. Click on the picture below if you wish to see the movie.

How did he do this? Well he basically stacked loads of agility to max his % dodge.

My stats while raid buffed?
76.31% dodge
12.16% parry
14.16% to be missed
1250 agility
900-1000 TPS (Threat Per Second)

Breaking the cap was the easy part. Fitting as much expertise rating as I possibly could (for tps and dps) while staying above the cap was more tricky, and was ultimately the goal of this project. I would have liked to finish off a 19x delicate crimson spinel set to upgrade a few other slots, but this does alright for now.


FAQ:
Q. No heightened senses or enveloping shadows for reducing spell damage on your armory build?
A. I only have 1 talent point to spare for either enveloping shadows, master of subtlety, or heightened senses. I went with increased damage after breaking stealth for the next boss I'm doing (5-man gruul). Otherwise, I rate heightened senses above enveloping shadows.

Q. Buff/Debuff list?
A. Grilled Mudfish, Scroll of Agility V, Elixir of Major Agility, Imp MOTW, Imp GoA, Blessing of Kings, NE Racial (1% dodge), Scorpid Sting, Insect Swarm, 5% base miss for a boss.

Now ppl maybe understand why some items get less stats (not a big diffrence on a single item, but on all slots you have it makes BIG diffrence).

A tanking rogue is awsome, lewl. And I bet that Gruul 5-man is possible with rogue as tank. Read much about it already. Was just suprised that MS was the first one to get tanked instead.

The should have no reason to nerf this concidering the amount of streamlined effort it takes to do this. My hat goes off to this player to break the mould of a DPS specific class. There are so many rogues out there and fewer and fewer tanks, we need more players like this.

I fail to see how they would nerf this without breaking the rogue class.

Once you get above 300 hit rating the stat to stack for end game rogue dps is agi. Also rogues don’t get any larger dodge rate from agi than any other class 30 agi = 1% dodge. To nerf the agi to dodge conversion would cripple feral druids.

Only way to "fix" this is to change the hit mechanics on boss mobs, making certain swings unavoidable. This will undoubtedly increase damage taken on all tanks but what ever it takes to make sure dps classes know their roll.

BTW why is it alright for warlocks and mages to tank mobs but a rogue shows he's capable at tanking and everyone has to nerf them?


WheneverI see small children or midgets I always associate them with gnomes andhave the overpowering desire to sneak up on them and brutally murderthem. But the pills are helping.

Well i fail to see the point to have a 900-1000 tps tank where we need for exemple 1500 tps on bruta and even more with more gear (prolly 1800+ tps).

This will never work on any Sunwell boss because of the radiance, that's not the point of this player.

Nah, don't get it wrong. Mage/Warlock tanking is sometimes a kind of required boss mechanic where you can't put a melee class on. Twin Emps somebody? Those were the times... ^^

But a rogue tanking a boss is just some kind of 'fun encounter' which is way beyond anything a normal guild would consider to do while they're still progressing.

Yep, the trash debuff pretty much ends the chance for him to do that.

Although I'd love to see more rogues attempt something like this if they have the time/gear. It might be even viable in WOTLK.. but doubtful considering there's going to already be another tanking class and because the amount of defenses needed to survive encounters will only rise.
