Drysc added several new hotfixes to his sticky post. (src)
This thread will remain updated throughout the week of March 24 - March 30 with any notable hotfixes.
Hotfixes applied and active:
• We have located the problem with Reliquary of Souls, Prince Kael'thas, and other bosses not properly casting their spells, and a hotfix has just been deployed to all servers worldwide that resolves this issue. (src)
• Players are no longer able to accept the quests "Blood for Blood" and "Blast the Gateway" without first completing "The Missing Magistrix"
• Felblood Initiate respawn rate significantly increased
• Veneratus the Many now spawns correctly
• The Horde Spirit Healers in Alterac Valley will once again teleport Horde players to a different graveyard if the current once gets captured by Alliance
• Archmages’s Guile, Battle Mace of the High Priestess, Terrok’s Gavel, and Sedai’s Blade have all been properly changed to Main-Hand Only weapons
• When taking the flight path from Ironforge to the Isle of Quel'Danas, you will no longer become fatigued and die if you had any buffs active which effect your ability to breathe underwater
• Looting Bind on Pickup items now properly brings up the confirmation dialog while using the Round Robin looting method
We will be offering free character moves from selected high population realms to lower populated realms, assisting in population dispersal. The ability to move a character on the selected source realms will become available on Friday, March 28 at 12:00PM PDT, and are scheduled to run until Friday, April 4 at 12:00PM PDT.
This round of transfers will have multiple destinations available to provide more options for players looking to go to a low population realm.
In the event that any of these realms meets our transfer goals before the scheduled end date, the transfers to that realm will be disabled. We highly recommend that if you are planning to transfer that you do so at your earliest convenience. No characters will be eligible for these free moves once the transfers have been closed.
The realms chosen consist of source realms with the highest sustained queues, and destination realms with the lowest population. The numbers gathered are directly from our data, and depict the realms in most need of these transfers. We will be continuing to monitor all realms and open additional free transfers in the future where necessary.
Source A (PvP): Illidan, Mal'Ganis, Tichondrius, Gurubashi, Warsong, Mannoroth, Burning Blade Destination A (PvP): Azshara, Maiev, Zuluhed, Lethon
Source B (PvE): Argent Dawn, Zul'jin, Ghostlands, Aggramar Destination B (PvE): Muradin, Sisters of Elune
All player models were re-built in 2.4 to increase preformance. This resulted in slight change to the geometry of the female human face. It was decided that this was an acceptable change.
Battlegrounds: Premade groups and long queue times (src)
The matchmaking system was tightened up for premade groups in 2.4 this will result in longer queue times unless there are similarly geared premade groups on the battleground for you to be matched against. If you want to get into a Battlground quickly, queue up solo, if you want to play with a premade group then expect to wait longer.
UI issue: Players death not showing in combat log (src)
This was an intended change. These items were never meant to level so high. Their level is now fixed and their cooldown reduced as partial compensation.
We have identified this issue with hardware sound. We are working on a fix for a future patch.
There is a workaround, you can use software sound, or if you must use hardware sound then set your sound channels to the minimum.
Do not lower hardware acceleration settings in windows, this will only cause problems with other programs.
Domesticated Felboar not giving experience points anymore (src)
If you have "everything" turned on in the combat log will you see Growl?
It appears Growl is considered a spell unlike other pet abilities and is not turned on by default in the "Self" filter. This doesn't seem to be intended and we're looking into whether it needs to be changed. You can turn on Growl in the combat log by selecting Settings under Filters in the combat log tab and then selecting the Message Types tab and checking Spell Casting.
Bug: Not receiving Onyxia Scale Cloak pattern upon quest completion (src)
This is a known issue (related to the polymorph pig bug) please contact an in-game GM who will help you get the missing ability.
The official WotLK bestiary page has been updated with a new creature: Taunka.
This tenacious, stoic race knows all too well the rigors of living in the harsh and often deadly wastes of Northrend. Over time, the taunka - whom many believe to be ancestral cousins of the tauren - have adapted, but only by forcing the land and the elements to yield to their will. The taunka's relationship with nature, unlike that of their tauren brethren, has been one of constant struggle and grim perseverance.
Although the taunka may seem dour or even cold to outsiders, those who come to know them will soon recognize an embattled race of survivors characterized by colossal hearts and unshakable resolve.
WoW related article: Blizzard sues Glider creator
Renowned game developer Blizzard has filed suit against a man named Michael Donnelly, the creator of a software program that allows users to automate play of the company's popular title, World of WarCraft. Blizzard is arguing that Donnelly's tool, entitled "MMO Glider," infringes on the End User License Agreement (EULA) of WoW. Donnelly contends that because the game client is not copied, it does not infringe on Blizzard's copyright. Blizzard has countered by saying that the tool actually copies the game into RAM in order to circumvent WoW's anti-cheat protection.
"Blizzard's designs expectations are frustrated, and resources are allocated unevenly, when bots are introduced into the WoW universe, because bots spend far more time in-game than an ordinary player would and consume resources the entire time," Blizzard's statement reads.
"Blizzard permits its licensees to load the WoW game client software into RAM to play WoW. As such, Blizzard's licensees cannot violate Blizzard's exclusive rights under the Copyright Act to make copies simply by loading a copy of the program into RAM to play WoW," Donnelly's statement contests.
Donnelly reportedly decided to fight in the courts after what he describes as "audacious threats" from Blizzard. He says he was made aware of the potential legal repercussions of his Glider application after a private investigator and lawyer from Blizzard's parent company Vivendi Universal showed up at his home. "When they arrived, they presented Donnelly with a copy of a complaint that they indicated would be filed the next day in the US District Court for the Central District of California if Donnelly did not immediately agree to stop selling Glider and return all profits that he made from Glider sales," he wrote in his statement.
I always wonder how Blizzard do such with patches? 2.3.2 after 2.3.0, 2.4.2 after 2.4.0. Even if they merge 2 patches together because got trobules finishing first in time (a nice fact too: patch not yet releaset to PRT, but blizzard got plans for another small hotfix patch) merge theyn and give number for rist one.
Kinda wrong title for this blue post.

So for off-nights our guild has been running some retro raids for gold/nostalgia/fun. Needed to get Onyxia Scale Cloaks to survive BWL so we killed her and I (375 Dragonscale Leatherworker) turned in the head to get the quests to obtain the Pattern: Onyxia Scale Cloak. Upon completing the "The journey has just begun" quest, I did not receive the pattern, or the skill. Is this due to me being 70, or is there something else that needs to be done? I'm somewhat of a pre-TBC nub, so I'm not sure if there's anything else I need to do

A blue poster said somewhere that Blizzard uses the x.x.1 version internally only. Or something to that extend. I'm sure someone can find the original blue post

The Donnelly lawsuit has been going on since 2006. Ars Technica is really on the ball here. Not. Hey! AT! I hear that OJ is on trial for murdering his wife. Can we see a write up of that breaking news? Further, MDY Industries sued Blizzard first, asking for a declaratory judgment. In response Blizzard did file counterclaims and a third party complaint. The matter, as it stands now, is in summary judgment. Blizzard filed their motion and MDY filed their own. No hearing has been scheduled yet. However, summary judgment motions are usually losers. Your case has to be downright cut-and-dry with no doubts or genuine issue as to any material fact. This is rarely the case.I predict that the lawsuit will survive summary judgment (on both sides) and continue on. I cannot, however, see it ending in a settlement. Blizzard cannot afford to let Glider keep running. MDY Industries cannot afford to lose its only real cash cow. I think we're gonna see these guys duke it out at trial before the end. It should be interesting. And another tip for the folks at AT: If you're going to write a legal article, don't cite a Korean case as historical precedent for a case in the United States District Court for the District of Arizona. (Sorry for the lack of paragraphs - This editor seems to dislike the concept)

Something i cant bear to think about, but what if Donelly wins?
Nothing. If Donnelly wins, nothing changes. Warden and Scan.dll will keep trying to block bot programs. Accounts using them will still get banned if they are discovered.
The difference will be that Blizzard will have a hard time in the future if they want to bring further legal claims against sellers of bot programs and bot program licenses. However, it will not stop Blizzard from enforcing its EULA/TOS on users of its products.
For you and me, nothing will really change.
Though, if Blizzard wins, a lot may change. They'll have a proven legal tool to shut down anyone else selling bot programs. They'll have put some hurt on gold farming companies which rely on Glider (possibly pushing them further into the practice of stealing and "liquidating" player accounts - maybe they will return to using more "live" farmers again). All in all, we will see a lot less bots on our servers.
The speed of the graphic of the Infernals landing during the Prince Malchazeer fight is now very fast but there is still a slight delay before the Infernal actually appears and starts it's AE. Also not sure what's going on with the rep in BT but we were getting 15 rep per kill when we got to the bloodboil/RoS trash, I didn't think it was that much before.
Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but when you try and buy something from the PvP vendors in SW and Org, you get a new message asking are you sure you want to exchange "marks" for "item".
It appears in the new same style as the interface options menu.
